A little bit about me…

My name is Tameka Johnson, aka Mama J. I’m a wife to a wonderful husband, Michael. I’m a mom to six amazing children – Khadari, Khadéja, Khalea, Khadarius, Khalyse, and Khylan. I’m a health physicist. I’m a baker. And most importantly, I’m a Christian.

In my four decades of life so far, God has done some amazing things in my life. I’ve had so many wonderful experiences, and I see God’s grace and goodness in so many ways, especially with my baking.

There are so many emotions that happen during (and after) the process of baking a delicious masterpiece! Of course, there is lots of love and joy ­­– but there is also a lot of anxiety and fear (and breakdowns) that like to tag along, too. It's a faith walk every time. And even though I’ve been baking since I was seven and decorating since I was 23, I still ask God to help me through every one of my bakes, and I’m very grateful that I’ve learned to invite Him into every aspect of my life.

So, what can you expect from this blog?

It’s just amazing how God truly likes to be involved in our day-to-day events. I want to share some of my baking “ups and downs”, my witnessing just how much God cares about what goes on in my little life, and some of the scriptures and prayers that help bring my through. I’ll probably throw in some recipes here and there, too!
